Windows Search Index Extractor is a tool designed to extract information contained within the Windows Desktop Search database (windows.edb) file. The windows.edb file can contain names, usernames, email messages, email addresses, documents, spreadsheet information and file property information stored by the Windows Indexing Search service.



This tool is useful in forensic examinations and can be used to examine windows.edb files extracted from computer systems using forensic software. All extracted information from the windows.edb file is saved and presented as a series of csv (comma separated value) files for maximum flexibility.
